Please be advised that as per the IAM Union Constitution, nominations and elections for the following positions of Local 1763’s Executive Board will be held this year, on the day of the December meeting (December 1’st)
President
Vice President
Secretary Treasurer
Recording Secretary
Conductor Sentinel
3 Trustees (1 of which must be from an “outbase”)
An Audit committee will also be elected or appointed at this time.
Nominations will be accepted at the November 3’rd meeting, and can be submitted by hand to the current Recording Secretary (Chris Snelgrove), or made verbally at the meeting. Absentee ballots are handled by the rules in the current IAM Constitution as follows: Members who reside in outlying areas more than 25 miles (40 Kilometers) from the designated balloting place, members who are at work during the times of the local balloting, members who are either con-fined because of illness or injury, or on leave qualifying under U.S. and Canadian family leave laws, or working members on vacation, retirees more than 25 miles (40 Kilometers) away from their residence on election day, or on official IAM business approved by the Local or District or International, or on an employer travel assignment, or reserve military leave, as the case may be, shall be furnished absentee ballots. Any member entitled to receive an absentee ballot shall make written request therefore to the R.S. of the Local by delivering in person or mailing or e-mailing such request to be received by the R.S. not later than 15 days (21 days for Canadian Territory) before the election. Consistent with a Local’s bylaws, a Local may also permit emailed requests for absentee ballots provided it has a dedicated email address for that exclusive purpose, and provided it includes that emai address in the notice of nominations and election. Within 5 business days after receipt of any such request, or receipt of printed ballots, whichever is later,the R.S. shall mail the ballot if the records of the Local indicate that the applicant is eligible to vote in the election. (In those instances where Local membership records are kept and maintained by a District with which such Local is affiliated, request for an absentee ballot shall be made to the appropriate District officer.) Members found not to be eligible to vote by absentee ballot will be so notified within 5 business days of receipt of their application

Requests for absentee ballots must contain your full legal name, base you work at, and your residential address you want the ballot sent to. Ballots will not be sent to any commercial or workplace addresses.
Nominations meeting will be November 3, 2026 at the Local 1763 meeting hall located at

The election if required, will take place on December 1’st 2026 at the same location and in person polls will be open from 06:30 they 18:30
